Park at pulloff on West Brook Road near Thompson Road after the junction with Stonetown Road. Look for red blazes of the Stonetown Circular Trail` and the aqua blazes of the Highlands Trail. They will take you on a walk along West Brook Road and on a bridge over the Wanaque Reservoir to the intersection of Stonetown Road and West Brook Road. The trail crosses the road and starts up to the ridge rather steeply in places. At .6 miles the trail crest on a knob known as Little Windbeam that has good views. Continue on the trail as it descends slightly before climbing again to the flat plateau which is Wind =beam at about 1.25 miles. Walk to the northern end of the plateau to find the highest spot. Reverse your route to return to the car.
